Lise Charlier is Head of School at The Cambridge School of Weston, a day and boarding school for students in grades 9-12 in Weston, Massachusetts. A leader among America’s progressive independent schools, The Cambridge School of Weston has been at the forefront of educational innovation since 1886. Its unique, highly interdisciplinary curricular model challenges students to take ownership of their learning, preparing them to become informed, engaged, and effective participants in society.
In her time at The Cambridge School of Weston, Charlier has proven herself to be a knowledgeable and capable educator who leads with intellect, patience, positivity, and drive. Her 25+ years of experience as a teacher and administrator is evident in her ability to build relationships, problem-solve, and innovate with creativity and confidence.
Charlier currently serves on the boards for Cowles Charitable Trust, CSEE (Center for Spiritual and Ethical Education), The Park School, Brooklyne, MA and AISNE (Association of Independent Schools In New England). Prior to joining the leadership team at The Cambridge School of Weston, Charlier lived and worked in the Baltimore area, serving as Director of Studies and Strategic Initiatives at the Severn School. Before Severn, Charlier was the Upper School Assistant Principal at the Friends School of Baltimore. She has also developed and taught French and Spanish courses and has served on the board of trustees for Green Street Academy and the Association of Independent Maryland and DC Schools (AIMS).
Born and raised in Haiti, Charlier was educated in the Haitian, French, and American educational systems. Charlier holds an MS in education from Johns Hopkins University and a BS from Georgetown University. She currently lives with her family on the CSW campus in Weston, MA.
